Meet Jacob!… I worked with Fernando Nunez to set up a diet/workout plan and told myself that no matter what, I was going to adhere to it. It was very hard, and I wanted to quit the whole thing several times. But each time I just told myself to make it through that day; then worry about tomorrow. Once I had completed 3 weeks on the plan it was still hard, but it was doable. During this time I also began asking people I trusted about diet and nutrition. Fast forward one year and I’m now 185lbs, 15% body fat and I feel incredible! My biggest piece of advice would be to find a goal that pushes what you think you can achieve. Meet David!… “At first it was just losing weight now it’s just my lifestyle – I don’t really need motivation. If I don’t go to the gym I feel weird. I absolutely love FitZone! I try to go at least 4 days a week. Barbell Strength has been awesome! I’m now learning proper technique and having guidance. I really do thank the coaches in FitZone and barbell strength for helping guide me. Friday in barbell strength I benched 205. I was amazed! That was a milestone I was trying hard for.”

Meet Gladys!… “My motivation everyday is knowing that every effort is worth it, every repetition counts. It motivates me to know that my body will be grateful. Everyday I try to be a better person, it motivates me to know that one day it will be worth it and to teach it to many people that everything has a sacrifice and that with perseverance you can go far to the goal you have always wanted. It’s encouraging me to know that one day I will be able to be motivation for someone else!”

Meet Rachel!… “I joined the gym over 4 years ago and have been coming consistently 3 to 4 days a week since. I’m a very dedicated person, so once I decide to start something, I stick with it! I have a family history of obesity and I see how living an unhealthy lifestyle affects your everyday life and future. I desire to live a healthy lifestyle, to honor God with my body, and to be around for my husband and children so we can enjoy life! I enjoy reading and spending time with my family; especially riding bikes and hiking. My goal has been to increase my cardio time and to build and tone muscle. Meet Morgan!… Morgan gets her motivation to workout from the staff at both Bridgewater and Harrisonburg Fitness as well as well as some self discipline. She has been loving Les Mills Body Pump classes with Kaity and Lucy as well as Bootcamp classes with Mckenzie and Hannah. When she’s not in a Group X class, Morgan can be found doing the W.O.W. in the Functional Fitness area at the Harrisonburg gym. “In January 2020 I had goals to have a flat stomach as the year progressed COVID19 sent us into isolation and I developed an eating dissorder. I was tired, self conscious and not myself until July of 2020 when the gym opened back up. I began to lift heavy and be more confident within my skin.
